Ingredients of rajma - red kidney beans curry:


  1. 10 gms Ginger 
  2. 10 flakes Garlic
  3. half cup  Vegetable oil
  4. 3 Whole  dry chili
  5. 2 grated  Onion large size
  6. 3 chopped Tomatoes
  7. 1 tbsp Red chili powder 
  8. to taste  Salt
  9. 2 and a half cups Rajma - Kidney beans
  10. 4 and a half cup   Water
  11. 1 tbsp  garam masala powder

Step by Step preparation of rajma - red kidney beans curry:

Step 1:

Soak the 2 and a half cup Rajma - Kidney beans overnight.

Step 2:

Grind together Ginger and Garlic into a thick paste.

Step 3:

Heat Oil in a cooker.

Step 4:

Add dry red chilies, stir for a few seconds.

Step 5:

Add Onions and fry till golden brown.

Step 6:

Add Ginger-Garlic paste, stir for a few seconds.

Step7:

Add tomatoes, Chilli powder and Salt, Cook till tomatoes are pulpy and oil shows separately.

Step 8:

Add rajma beans - kidney beans and Water, Stir well.

Step 9:

Close cooker lead, bring to full pressure on high heat.

Step 10:

Reduce heat and cook 20 minutes.

Step 11:

Remove cooker from heat, Allow to coll.

Step 12:

Open cooker partially mashes beans with the back of a ladle.

Step 13:

Stir and add Garam masala powder.
